The 40th European Occultation Projects Symposium was held in Białystok, Poland, in 2021. The European Symposium on Occultation Projects is organized annually by the International Occultation Timing Association/European Section (IOTA/ES).
As usual, the IOTA/ES annual conference included lectures and interesting field trips.

ESOP was attended by 25 people on site and up to 40 participants via ZOOM.

Białystok is the largest city in northeastern Poland and the capital of the Podlaskie Voivodeship. The City is situated in the Białystok Uplands of the Podlaskie Plain, part of the 'Green Lungs of Poland'. It is situated close to Belarus and Lithuania. The Biała River passes through the city.

In addition to a medical university and other colleges, the modern Białystok University is the largest teaching institution in Białystok with over 17,000 students.
